Winning Waffles

Feast your eyes on the ultimate waffle recipe, courtesy of Cuisinart. For best results, choose the Cuisinart Vertical Waffle Maker – with non-stick plates and five settings, it delivers the perfect level of crunch every time.

Makes 8 waffles

Ingredients
2 cups (300g) all-purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 3/4 cups (430ml) milk
6 tbsp (120ml) vegetable oil
2 eggs

Method

1. Place ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine until well blended and smooth. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes before using.

2. Preheat waffle iron to desired setting (a tone will sound when preheated).

3. Pour a cup of batter through the top of the spout. When the tone sounds, the waffle is cooked and ready.

4. Open the lid and remove the baked waffle. Repeat with remaining batter.

5. Serve with your favourite toppings.

Grab some mini pizza bases (or make your own!) and let the kids do the rest. Especially great for fussy eaters, pizzas let the kids pick and place their favourite veggie toppings. For a gourmet finish, a benchtop pizza oven cooks with high temperatures for an authentic wood-fired taste.
