Look and feel your best every day with an Electric Shaver.

Whether for trimming a beard neatly or for a close shave every day even for sensitive skin, modern Electric Shavers have a lot of features to navigate. Start here for some helpful information.

What does oiling an Electric Shaver do?

One of the easiest things to keep an Electric Shaver performing well is regular cleaning and maintenance. Oiling a Shaver to keep it lubricated is an important part of this.

An Electric Shaver is made up of multiple mechanical moving parts. While shaving the blades, foils and metal combs move against each other causing heat and friction that can lead to excessivewear.

Lubrication reduces the resistance in moving parts which means the motor inside the Shaver doesn't need to work as hard, and significantly reduces the wear along with extending its service life. This can also reduce the heat being generated when in use which helps to reduces skin irritation and razor burn.

What features should I look for in an Electric Shaver?

When deciding on a new Electric Shaver, think about your previously used Shavers. There are two different types of Electric Shaver called foil and rotary each training hair to grow in a particular direction. Switching from one to another or from a manual razor may take around a month to adjust.

Rechargeable Cordless Shavers are the most flexible as they don't require a nearby power outlet, and some models known as 'wet and dry' can even be used in the shower (make sure to research if this is true before use to avoid damaging the unit). Corded Shavers are unsafe for shower use.

Some Shavers are powered by replaceable batteries, which can be useful if power points aren't always handy or it's not recharged before every use. Different models have different cleaning features as an important part of their maintenance, so choose a model that's easy and convenient to clean.
