Everything I could wish for.
I wanted to purchase the Phillips 4400 but it wasn’t available so I purchased the 5500. The difference is the number of coffee programs available. And a bit more expensive. . The 5500 offers more programs. It has a small footprint which is good as it sits on the bench in the pantry. Before use it needs to be set up, but this is easy. You need to test the hardness of your water and it tells you how many cup you can make before it needs to be descaled. Mine is 500 cups as I use filtered water. The big deal for me is that it grinds fresh beans for each cup although there is also provision for ground coffee. You can predetermine coffee amounts, milk amounts and size of cup. There is provision for 4 settings, each colour coded. The second big deal is that it is fully automatic. Just switch it on, attach the milk container select programme and push start. The specially designed milk spout provides frothy milk. The quality is so good that I now fill my take away cup when I’m going out.

Freshly poured coffee with your own beans with a few button taps
The reason we chose this machine is because we wanted the simplest and quickest way to make coffee with real coffee beans to get away from using a pod machine. This machine allows us to do this, making coffee in the morning a simple couple of button presses and also allows an additional shot in the same pour! There are so many different presets to have your coffee, I still haven't had a chance to go through them yet, but if you're wanting to move away from pods and have the simplicity of a pour with fresh beans then this is it!
